Host comes from a long-standing interest in structures which accumulate bit by bit using a simple piece as the basic unit.  Global pattern emerges from small local acts. 

I wanted this work to be very simple – to be done with as little as possible.  The unit I have settled on is a hole. 

Folding the paper multiples the unit so that each act of drilling produces four units roughly equidistant from the crossing of the two axes.

The paper is a host for these small non-things and the non-things are the significant parts
